Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Services
Work with individual in establishing and working toward meeting his/her life goals. At Starlight Behavioral Health, the service coordinator will provide advocacy, service planning, referrals, evaluation, monitor and general coordination of services for all consumers.
This allows natural families a break from daily responsibilities while Starlight provides assistance, monitoring and oversight of the individuals health and safety. This service may be provided in the consumer's home or local community.
To increase financial independence, we partner with the Division of Rehabilitation Services to provide job coaching services. Starlight assists individual with obtaining employment and development training goals to perform duties.
Starlight currently provides 1 - 3 person homes with 24-hour services and support to individuals in their chosen community residence.
Person-Centered Support Family Services
Parents and/or Guardians can be trained to provide support and services to individuals within their family home and be provided compensation.
Each individuals medical needs will be assessed during admission, and a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) will evaluate needs and provided training and services. Specific nurse training areas may address medication, side effects, alternative choices, medical diagnosis and prognosis, proper lifting techniques, hygiene and daily living issues affecting health.
Behavioral Support Professional
All training services will be monitored by our staff who meet the guidelines for credentialing under Medicaid Chapter 503. Behavioral Support Professionals will provide an assessment of the individual's life goals and determine specific training needed to assist with the achievement of those goals. Additionally, plans are created for those with maladaptive behaviors to integrate into their community. These services and trainings will be in accordance with the wishes of the family
Person-Centered Support Agency Services
Individuals will received personalized and specific services to develop skills to function more independently. Training objectives such as personal hygiene, household upkeep, meal preparation and community integration can be utilized to ensure maximum inclusion in their community.
As of March 2021, we offer an Intermediate Care Facility for individuals with an I/DD that are awaiting a permanent place to live.
4-bed Intermediate Care Facility for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ICF/IID) in need of a temporary placement until a permanent home is identified.
Provides ongoing evaluation, 24-hour supervision, coordination and integration of health and rehabilitative services.
Support services are individualized and provided by qualified staff to help each individual achieve their goals.

We currently support two Group Homes to meet the specific needs of individuals.
Orion Forensic Group Home
3 Bed Adult Forensic Home
Provides 24-hour staffing and specialized supervision for court ordered I/DD Individuals
Partly funded through a grant with the WV Department of Health and Human Resources
Phoenix Behaviorally Intensive Group Home
3 Bed Adult Home for I/DD adults with intensive behavioral needs
Provides 24-hour staffing and specialized behavioral supervision by an endorsed Behavioral Support Professional (level 2)
This home has increased staff training due to behavioral challenges, 24-hour video surveillance and direct oversight by the BSP.
