CELEBRATING 20 YEARS!

We're celebrating a milestone this year! Starlight Behavioral Health first opened its doors in 2006 with just two employees: Jack and Amy Ingles. They had worked in IDD Waiver services for local service providers and saw the need for an alternative residential option that focused on helping people live their best lives.

Starlight Behavioral Health began accepting referrals and admitted their first resident in an apartment in Kenova in the summer of 2006 and welcomed their second resident a few weeks later. Just one year after opening, WV awarded the company grant funds to open a three-bed crisis residential unit.

As the program grew, Jack and Amy hired additional people, growing to over 200 employees.

Today, with Amy in a regional director role, Starlight Behavioral Health serves over 50 individuals with IDD, living in one- to three-person settings in the Huntington area. Through grant funding from the WV Department of Health and Human Services, we also operate a licensed group home for individuals with IDD and legal problems and another with three individuals with profound hearing loss.

We look forward to another 20 years of creative solutions to help light the path to a brighter future for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities!
